What is life without an Adventure?

Teacher candidates in colleges and universities across Ohio and certain other chosen states embarked January, 2012, on a field test for the Stanford University-based "Teacher Performance Assessment". The TPA field test will be completed this summer, and it is apparent that Ohio will be adopting this measure officially, beginning September 1, 2013.

Ohio Christian University student teachers have bravely participated in the field test from its outset. The measure, made up of a great deal of writing in response to fifteen items governed by rubrics plus two short videos, will become a major player in licensure decisions in addition to the content-oriented Praxis II tests. It is hoped by both teacher candidates and faculty at OCU that the TPA may replace the Praxis II Principles of Learning and Teaching test.

OCU student teachers pictured here are to be commended for their delightful smiles in the face of this latest adventure! They are left to right Linette Shetler, of Plain City, OH, Shelby Roe of Middletown, OH, and Terissa Adams of Laurelville, OH.
