Watch OCU's Drama Team Perform Dark Road

Dark Road:

Author: Laura Lundgren Smith
Nov. 12th at 7:00 PM
Running time: (40-45 minutes)
Free Admission

When Greta, a young girl living in Nazi Germany, reads that the nearby women's concentration camp is hiring guards, she sees it as a chance to find her place in the world and provide for her sister Lise. But soon she learns the reality of her duties, and so too does she learn how to justify her crimes, heading further and further down the dark road laid by the Third Reich. Kind-hearted Lise is shocked at what her sister becomes, and though the two drift apart, their fates remain inextricably and dangerously linked. A powerful drama about the choices that allow evil to become ordinary.

This play may not be suitable for some younger audiences who may find the subject matter disturbing.  Parental discretion is advised.

The Hunchback of Notre Dame:

Author: Victor Hugo and Songs from the Disney film
April 8th & 9th: Time: TBA
Running time: Approximately 2 Hours
Admission: TBA

The musical begins as the bells of Notre Dame sound through the famed cathedral in fifteenth-century Paris. Quasimodo, the deformed bell-ringer who longs to be "Out There," observes all of Paris reveling in the Feast of Fools. Held captive by his devious caretaker, the archdeacon Dom Claude Frollo, he escapes for the day and joins the boisterous crowd, only to be treated cruelly by all but the beautiful Romani woman, Esmeralda. Quasimodo isn’t the only one captivated by her free spirit, though – the handsome Captain Phoebus and Frollo are equally enthralled. As the three vie for her attention, Frollo embarks on a mission to destroy the Roma – and it’s up to Quasimodo to save them all.
