On Thursday, September 26, 2013, Ohio Christian University opened the doors and welcomed thirteen new students at OCU’s newest location, 1550 Southlake Parkway in Morrow, Georgia.
Dr. Shawn Thomas serves as the Director of Enrollment and Operations in Morrow and started with OCU in August. Ms. Latonya Holmes serves as Corporate Developer and Recruiter and began this past July. Dr. Tim Eades, Assistant Provost and Vice President stated, “Dr. Thomas and Ms. Holmes have accomplished an amazing feat in reaching out to the Morrow community and opening the facility to serve students in just a matter of a few months. They have worked tirelessly and without break these months to lead us to this celebration of welcoming our first new students. Their passion for God and Christian higher education is contagious; I’m very excited to see how God impacts the greater Atlanta area through them these next years.”
Dr. Thomas remarked, “I call it a blessing to be part of a Christian university that educates, trains, develops, and encourages continuous learning. Ohio Christian University is committed to serving the workforce educational needs in this region.”
Several more associate, bachelor, and master degree program starts are planned this fall and in the spring of 2014 for Morrow. Big plans are ahead for the facility that Dr. Malon D. Mimms so graciously donated to Ohio Christian University. A Grand Opening Event is scheduled at the Morrow facility at noon on Wednesday, December 4.
Morrow is the second location for Ohio Christian University in the state of Georgia. Classes began in Milner, GA in 2012 at Rock Springs Church led by Dr. Benny Tate. Students are served at the Rock Springs Education Center.
