

Dr. Ben Carson and his wife started the Carson Scholars Fund in 1994, which gives scholarships to students in grades 4–11 for "academic excellence and humanitarian qualities." More than 5,700 scholarships have been awarded to students in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. Ohio Christian University’s 29th Annual Scholarship Golf Tournament
occurred on Friday, October 2nd at the Pickaway Golf Course. Twenty-five
four-person teams enjoyed a round of golf raising over $30,000 to fund
scholarships for current students. These OCU Scholarships are awarded to
current campus students each spring at the Annual Scholarship Banquet.
"The golf tournament is one our major fund-raising events for student
scholarships,” explained OCU President Dr. Jon Kulaga. “The engagement

Ohio Christian University is pleased to introduce David Uhl (‘03) as the
incoming Assistant Vice President of Advancement. Uhl graduated from Ohio
Christian and will return to his alma mater on January 6. In his new role,
Uhl will be involved in fundraising, community engagement, and alumni and
church relations.
Uhl obtained his bachelor’s in Business and Ministry from Ohio Christian in
2003. He later obtained his master’s in Leadership for Higher Education
from Capella University in 2005 and a Ph.D in Organizational Management and
Leadership from the same institution in 2010.

Over fifty youth leaders from more than thirty churches and organizations
converged on the Ohio Christian University campus for the second annual Youth
Leadership Conference. Anticipation for the conference was met with engaging
and relevant information applicable to those in attendance. The subject
of the day was the importance of actively engaging youth with the reality of
Biblical Truth in these formative years. Dr. Walt Mueller, expert in youth
culture and President of the Center for Parent/Youth Understanding, began the

Ohio Christian University (OCU) hosted its annual Scholarship Banquet on
Tuesday, March 26th where donors were celebrated and thanked for their
contributions to the students of OCU. Over $100,000 in scholarships from 68
separate donors were awarded to students in attendance. Parents of recipients
were encouraged to attend the banquet and meet the donors supporting their
children’s education. Students Hannah Reager (’20), Davi Da Silva
(’19), and Marissa McCrary (’20) all shared with those in attendance the
impact that the donors had on them individually. Each student at Ohio

Leadership Conference focusing on Engaging Youth Culture.

OCU Celebrates Christmas with Tree Lighting, Fireworks, and Fun

The Ohio Christian University family with community neighbors celebrated the
Christmas holiday season on November 30 at University’s Maxwell Center at
1476 Lancaster Pike, Circleville, 43113.
Celebrants sang favorite carols around the lighted Christmas tree, sharing
good cheer while remembering the reason for the season - Christ's birth.
After viewing awe-inspiring fireworks displays, the merry-makers flowed
into Maxwell Center for hot chocolate, cookie decorating, storytelling, and
for children visits with Santa Claus.
