LifeTraks Students Meet Grammy Award-Winning Vocalist David Phelps

Students in the LifeTraks School of Leadership had the opportunity to meet Grammy Award-winning vocalist David Phelps in a question and answer forum last Friday (July 19, 2013) at Indianapolis First Church of the Nazarene in Indianapolis, IN.  The night, full of distinct vocals and a high-octane live band, was capped off by words of insight from the highly acclaimed tenor. “If I had to give any advice for obtaining your dream, I would say that perseverance is foundational,” said Phelps.  “But when you accomplish them, you will look back on the tougher times and know that you were in the center of God’s will the whole time.”Phelps also shared his early struggles before joining the Gaither Vocal Band and how he balances his private and professional life. The LifeTraks students had the opportunity to ask their questions regarding solo and group performances, management, and vocal tips. The intimate concert was also a highlight as David introduced his daughter in a thrilling duet and showcased the talents of Dove Award winner Charlotte Ritchie.  The LifeTraks School of Leadership is a division of LiveGodLoud Ministries in collaboration with Ohio Christian University that seeks to develop aspiring laymen and clergy to have a “Kingdom First” mentality and discover their strengths in a three-year course of intensive study. If you would like more information about the LifeTraks School of Leadership please contact TonyMcCrary, Director of Church Relations, at or visit the Church Relations webpage at
