Santorum will be joining world renowned neurosurgeon Dr. Ben Carson; internationally acclaimed leadership expert, Dr. John Maxwell; and founder and senior pastor of Grace Outreach Center in Plano, TX, Dr. Gerald Brooks.Seating is limited so get your tickets today!Richard Santorum is an attorney by profession, but served as a United States Senator representing Pennsylvania from 1995 to 2007, and was the Senate's third-ranking Republican from 2001 until 2007. He ran for the 2012 Republican Party presidential nomination, finishing second to the eventual Republican nominee Mitt Romney.Born in Virginia, Santorum grew up primarily in Butler, Pennsylvania. He attended Pennsylvania State University for his undergraduate degree, followed by the University of Pittsburgh for his MBA. Finally earning his Juris Doctor from the Dickinson School of Law (now part of Penn State). Santorum worked as an attorney at Kirkpatrick & Lockhart, where he met Karen Garver. They married in 1990, and have seven living children (one child died shortly after birth).Santorum was elected as a United States Senator for Pennsylvania in 1994, and served two terms until losing his re-election bid in 2006. A devout, practicing Catholic, Santorum is a social conservative. While serving as a senator, Santorum was the author of what came to be known as the Santorum Amendment, which promoted the teaching of intelligent design. In 2005, Santorum introduced the Workplace Religious Freedom Act along with Senator John Kerry.

Ohio Christian University’s Homecoming and Family Day 2019 welcomed over 400 alumni and their family members home on Oct. 12. The atmosphere was warm and lively despite the chilly fall weather that forced many of the events inside. The day started early with 74 participants shrugging off temperatures in the mid-40’s as they ran or walked in the 7th annual Josias Rodriguez 5k Run/Walk. The event is held in memory of a much-loved ministry student who tragically lost his life in a hiking accident. Josias Rodriguez’s mom spoke briefly at the start of the race with his dad firing the

Mark Lee caught the attention of Ohio Christian University and the surrounding community with his witty sense of humor and passion for sharing Christ with others. Lee is a founding member and guitarist for popular Christian band Third Day. During his “An Evening with Mark Lee” concert on Sept. 16, Lee shared his music as well as stories from his own life. Ohio Christian University will host the 7th annual Josias Rodriguez 5k Run/Walk on Saturday, Oct. 12. The event is held in honor of Josias Rodriguez, a student who tragically lost his life in a hiking incident. Josias was known for his passion for Christ and for how he inspired the people around him. “Today, Josias’ example is one that has laid the foundation for future students to pursue their dreams of being in ministry and an example that reminds us of the race that we must also finish,” said Nancy Wilcox, a close friend of Josias. Church Services Day 2018, undertaken on September 26, proved a worthy addition to this traditional service-above-self event!  About 400 students lent their energies to 31 work projects in local churches, residences, and charity organizations.
