In summer 2013, Ohio Christian University invited several thousand alumni to participate in a survey regarding their experiences as students and graduates. One of the important questions related to current employment. The responses indicated that more than half – 52 percent – of alumni are employed in churches, missions, education, government and public service, and other non-profit organizations. These results reveal that the University is meeting its mission to:Prepare students to serve effectively in the church and society by providing a holistic, Christ-centered, biblically integrated education in the Wesleyan tradition. The total employment rate of alumni is nearly 86 percent with another 10 percent in other categories, such as retiree, student, homemaker, or disabled. These percentages demonstrate the quality of graduates produced through excellent curricula, dedicated faculty, and rigorous academic experiences. Dr. Hank Kelly, Provost, stated, “The University’s focus on teaching competencies, not just knowledge, has paid off, as shown by the employment rate of our graduates.”Ohio Christian University, founded in 1948 and one of the fastest growing universities in the nation, is committed to offering a complete education that develops students intellectually, professionally, and spiritually. OCU offers degree programs for traditional undergraduate students, graduate students, and adult and online students. Additionally, the Trailblazer Academy allows high school students to complete college classes. All programs are designed to equip students to become leaders in their careers, communities, families, and the world. Ohio Christian is approved by the Ohio Board of Regents and accredited through the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association and the Association for Biblical Higher Education.
