Head Basketball Coach Inducted in Taylor University Hall of Fame

Ohio Christian University’s Head Coach for the Men’s basketball team,
Casey Coons was recently honored by his alma mater. On Oct. 5, Coons was
inducted into Taylor University Athletics 2019 Hall of Fame. Other inductees
included Molly Currens, Tanya Crevier, Rick Atkinson, and Tyler Beachler.
“It was an awesome honor,” Coons said of the induction ceremony. “It
was really cool because all of the other four inductees I know really well.
Two of them I went to school with, Coach Atkinson I interacted with while I
was an assistant there, and Tanya Crevier worked all nine years of basketball

PITTSBURGH, PA – The Ohio Christian University Trailblazers battled it out
on the road on Saturday, riding an offensive explosion in the second half to
seal the 6-3 victory. The win marks the team's first River States Conference
victory of the season. Andrew Smith (JR/Dansville, MI) kicked off the
scoring for Ohio Christian in the 33rd minute, as neither team managed a
successful offensive push in most of the opening half. Following halftime,
both teams caught fire, with the Trailblazers netting five goals in less than

PITTSBURGH, PA – The Ohio Christian University Lady Trailblazers played the
Celtics of Carlow University on Saturday, competing in less than ideal
weather conditions of cold temperatures and consistent rain. After 110
minutes of play, the match ended in a 1-1 tie. Ohio Christian opened the
scoring in the 23rd minute on a goal by Brooke Lezotte (SR/Waynesville, OH),
assisted by Rachel Lawwell (SR/Pataskala, OH). Six minutes later, the Celtics
evened the score on a goal from Alexa Schwab, ending the scoring for both
teams. Each squad had their fair chance to pull ahead, as each team
