Arroyo comes to OCU following a three year stint as associate head coach of the women's program at Eastern Nazarene College. Prior to that position, she served five years as assistant coach for the women's program at Warner University, where she helped lead them to their 1st Regional Championship, and 1st National Championship appearance. Arroyo also served as an assistant women's coach at Southeastern University in 2011-12.
On top of her collegiate coaching experience, Arroyo has seen success coaching young women at the club level with Everton Futbol Club FC (2011-12)
"I am thankful and blessed to be joining the OCU Family," said Arroyo, "I'd like to thank Dr. Jon Kulaga, Kevin Jones, and Dave Bireline for trusting me to lead the women's program. I feel honored! I would also like to thank the OCU community for making me feel welcome."
Arroyo played collegiate soccer at Southeastern for four seasons, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Pre Med & Biology. As a player, Bethany played a key role in leading her team to the Regional Championship 3 out her 4 seasons. Her team would make it to the National Tournament all 4 years, and finished as runner-ups in two of those seasons.
"Collegiate athletics provide a great opportunity to develop areas of work ethic, discipline, commitment and teamwork," said Arroyo, "The goal here is simple- to become leaders throughout the university and beyond. I am committed to partnering with the women and the university to create a culture that encourages student-athletes to serve Christ, strive for excellence, and compete at a high level."
Arroyo also earned All-American, All-Tournament team, and All-Region team honors all 4 seasons of her collegiate career.
"I've had the privilege of knowing Coach Arroyo for many years," said Kevin Jones, Vice President of Enrollment, "First as an All American player at the college level and as a coach. She brings strong leadership, integrity and a tremendous love of serving and mentoring. We are blessed to welcome her to this important role and we look forward to seeing the impact on the team and community in the future."
Following her undergrad, Bethany attended Warner University for graduate school where she received her masters of Business Administration, International Business in 2015.
"We are very excited to have Beth taking over the women's soccer program," said Director of Athletics David Bireline, "she embodies what we are looking for in a head coach and we are excited for her to build on the success of the program."
