CIRCLEVILLE, OH – Following three seasons as head coach of the men's and women's golf programs, Lane Patrick has decided to step down from his position, effective immediately. Brent Martin, previously head coach of the men's and women's tennis programs, resumed all coaching duties as of July 1.
"First off, I'd like to thank the administration of Ohio Christian University for giving me this opportunity," said Martin. "Dr. Kuluga, Kevin Jones and Dave Bireline have given me a lot of confidence in my time here at OCU and I'm very excited to be named the Director of Golf. Golf at Ohio Christian is in a good spot thanks to Lane Patrick and I'm looking forward to continuing the success moving forward. Golf has always been a huge passion of mine and I look forward to producing outstanding Christ-centered men and women golfers who will make a kingdom impact using this great game."
As a collegiate golfer at Cedarville University, Martin was a three year letter winner and was a part of two school records for the Yellow Jackets (lowest 18-hole and 36-hole team score). He has two career holes in one and carries a 2.7 USGA Handicap.
Director of Intercollegiate Athletics David Bireline had this to say about the transition: "I first want to thank Lane for all of his hard work and dedication to the program over these past three years. He has been a great asset to the golf program as it has developed. Moving forward, I am excited to see Brent move into this role and lead the team."
Following Martin's departure from the tennis program, former assistant coach Allison Corfield will be named Interim Head Coach for both the men and women.
