Youth Leadership Conference Focuses on Engaging Youth Culture image

On Thursday, March 7th, Ohio Christian University is hosting an all-day Youth Leadership Conference focusing on Engaging Youth Culture.

The program is ideal for all church pastors and youth pastors. Focused breakout sessions will cover these key topics:

- Mental Health and Suicide
- Refreshing your Ministry
- Developing World Changers by Partnering with Non-Profits
- How Media is Shaping your Students
- Working with Church Leadership

Keynote speaker Dr. Walt Mueller is an authority on youth culture and family issues.

Mueller is the founder of the Center for Parent/Youth Understanding, a non-profit organization serving schools, churches, and community organizations across the U.S, Canada, and worldwide. He appears on media outlets internationally to discuss teenagers and their world.

Mueller earned a B.A. in Sociology from Geneva College, an M.Div. from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, and a doctorate in postmodern generations from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary.

The conference runs from 10 am to 3 pm. Registration is required. Cost is $15 per person and includes lunch.

Ohio Christian University’s 29th Annual Scholarship Golf Tournament occurred on Friday, October 2nd at the Pickaway Golf Course. Twenty-five four-person teams enjoyed a round of golf raising over $30,000 to fund scholarships for current students. Ohio Christian University is pleased to introduce David Uhl (‘03) as the incoming Assistant Vice President of Advancement. Uhl graduated from Ohio Christian and will return to his alma mater on January 6. In his new role, Uhl will be involved in fundraising, community engagement, and alumni and church relations. Uhl obtained his bachelor’s in Business and Ministry from Ohio Christian in 2003. The Ohio Christian University family with community neighbors celebrated the Christmas holiday season on November 30 at University’s Maxwell Center at 1476 Lancaster Pike, Circleville, 43113. Celebrants sang favorite carols around the lighted Christmas tree, sharing good cheer while remembering the reason for the season - Christ's birth. After viewing awe-inspiring fireworks displays, the merry-makers flowed into Maxwell Center for hot chocolate, cookie decorating, storytelling, and for children visits with Santa Claus.
