The beloved Columbus Symphony holiday tradition of Holiday Pops returns in 2021 with spectacular performances of popular holiday songs and classic carols. Conductor Ron Jenkins will lead the Columbus Symphony in performances of “Winter Wonderland,” “We Wish You a Merry Christmas,” “Sleigh Ride,” “All I Want for Christmas is You,” and many more.
About The Columbus Symphony Orchestra:
Since 1951, the Columbus Symphony (CSO) has been proud to serve as central Ohio’s flagship music performance organization. The CSO’s musicians, conductors, chorus, and world-renowned guest artists enrich the central Ohio community through extraordinary talent, passion, dedication, and the highest standards of musicianship. Living and working in the community, CSO musicians are interwoven throughout the region’s cultural fabric, accompanying performances by other companies, performing in other local orchestras, and teaching and coaching young musicians.
Guided by the artistic vision of Music Director Rossen Milanov, the CSO offers four programming areas – Masterworks, Pops, Picnic with the Pops, and Education/Community Engagement – that are targeted to appeal to diverse audiences from throughout central Ohio. This segmented approach, innovative within the American orchestra industry, is helping the CSO to reach new, younger, and more diverse audiences.
The CSO is integral to the community, and plays a central role in Columbus’ vibrant arts scene. Our concerts and programs served over 159,000 central Ohioans; 2.3 million reached; 28,000 children, families, and teachers. Our programming includes classical masterworks, new works by living composers, performances by popular artists from a variety of genres, education programs that enrich and promote children’s learning and development, and community engagement programming designed to make the CSO accessible to all.

Tickets on Sale Now for Spring Musical Production

Ohio Christian University presents Elton John and Tim Rice’s Aida as their
spring musical production on March 31st at 7:00 PM and April 1st at 2:00 PM.
After the overwhelming support for OCU’s first musical production last
spring with The Hunchback of Notre Dame, the performing arts committee is
excited to showcase both students and alumni in this vibrant and timeless
production.
Come out and enjoy a fantastic show full of powerful vocals, fun dance
numbers and a love story that never dies. You’ll experience the world of
ancient Egypt through the eyes of an enslaved Nubian princess,

Peter Pan Record-Breaking Production

Ohio Christian University closed on their production, Peter Pan, Saturday,
November 5th, and it was a record-breaking fall show for the OCU performing
arts team. With 585 tickets sold, this magical show brought in lots of
families and audience members of all ages. Needless to say, it was a big hit
with the youngest members in the audience as they were transported to
Neverland. Some even came to the show in their own costumes!
Ohio Christian’s very own Brandon Benner took on the role of Peter Pan as a
freshman and a first-time performer. Hallie Graf (Little Women, Dark Road)
played

31st Annual Golf Scholarship Tournament A Success

Ohio Christian University’s (OCU) 31st Annual Scholarship Golf Tournament
occurred on Monday, May 16th at Pinnacle Golf Club in Grove City, Ohio.
Twenty-four four-person teams enjoyed a round of golf raising over $50,000 to
fund scholarships for current students. These OCU Scholarships are awarded to
current campus students each spring at the Annual Scholarship Banquet.
"The golf tournament is one of our major fund-raising events for student
scholarships," explained OCU President Dr. Jon Kulaga. "The engagement and
generosity of each of the golfers is critical to our ability to assist

First Musical Theater Performance a Success

Ohio Christian University closed on their first musical, The Hunchback of
Notre Dame, Saturday, April 9th and the OCU family couldn’t be prouder of
the cast, crew, patrons, and supporters. With about 800 tickets sold, the
first OCU musical production brought in families and community members, with
a special dessert reception by Hallmark in the Ministry and Performing Arts
Center lobby for opening night.

Music Department Revamps Music Education Degree

The Ohio Christian University Music Department is pleased to announce that
campus students can major in a newly revamped Bachelor of Science in Music
Education. The new program began with the start of the Fall 2020 Semester and
is a state-approved program leading to initial licensure with the Ohio
Department of Education to teach K-12 Music Education. It has been
streamlined to prioritize courses that Music Education majors need to be
successful in their careers.
Students in the Music Education Program can choose an Instrumental or
Vocal/Choral Concentration and will hone their skills
