Mount Vernon, Ohio – Friday, February 12th, the men's and women's indoor track teams took part in the Mount Vernon Nazarene University Chip Wilson Invite. This was the first collegiate competition in the new Mount Vernon Energy Fieldhouse.

The women placed third out of nine schools while the men placed fifth.

Drake Dickerson (JR/Lancaster, OH) led the men's team with a victory in the mile. 4 minutes and 20.87 seconds after the gun sounded, Dickerson crossed the finish line after covering over 1,609 meters. This broke his previous school record by nearly eight seconds while moving up to sixth place in the national rankings. Dickerson has competed in five races this season, all of which have been school records.

Nathan Rose (SR/Hilliard, OH) placed second in the long jump with a leap of 5.89 meters. Rose also qualified for finals in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.54 seconds. He would go on to finish fourth.

Corry Mientkiewicz was the runner up in the 1,000-meter run with a time of 2:43.34. This was the fastest 1,000 by a trailblazer since 2018.

Derek Donner (SO/Lebanon, OH) placed fifth in the 400-meter dash with a new college best time of 56.05 seconds.

Evan Caldwell had a pair of sixth place finishes. The first was in the 400 were he finished right behind Donner with a time of 56.10 seconds and the second was in the 200-meter dash where he ran a 26.13. Both of which were new personal bests.

Andrew Smith rounded out the men's scoring with an eighth-place finish in the 400.

Acacia May (SO/Valley View, OH) was the lone victor on the women's squad breaking the tape in the 400-meter dash with a new personal best time of 62.93 seconds. May also finished second in the 200-meter dash with a time of 28.27 seconds.

Morgan Maffett (SO/Pickerington, OH) continued her progression in her throwing events. She recorded a weight throw school record with a toss of 15.66 meters. This earned her a second-place finish while moving her up to 18th in the national rankings. She also placed fifth in the shot put with a throw of 11.61 meters. The new personal record inches closer to the school record of 11.84 meters.

Brittany Lenz (JR/Springfield, OH) placed second in the 1,000-meter run with a new personal record of 3 minutes 27.67 seconds.

Gracie Lanier (SO/Scott Depot, WV) ran a 28.66 in the 200 placing her third behind May. Lanier also recorded a collegiate personal best 60-meter dash time of 8.49 seconds which placed her fourth overall.

Rachel Lomaka (JR/Pataskala, OH) placed third in the 600-meter run with a time of 2 minutes 10.26 seconds.

Monica Caldwell rounded out the women's scoring placing eighth in the 800-meter run.

Ohio Christian will co-host the River States Conference Championships on Saturday, February 20th at The Chieftain Center in Logan, Ohio. This is the last scheduled regular season competition for the year before the NAIA National Meet. No spectators will be allowed at the event.
