Dr. Thad Hicks Returns to OCU image

An experienced Emergency Manager, Thad Hicks returns to OCU as the Director of the Emergency and Disaster Management program. Before a three-year hiatus to work with the Emergency Disaster Services section of The Salvation Army, Dr. Hicks both designed the program at OCU and was its first director. He continues his relationship with The Salvation Army as a trainer and consultant. This relationship allows for an abundance of real-world experiences for students at OCU with one of the world’s largest non-profit organizations active in emergency and disaster work.

On Memorial Day evening an EF4 tornado tore through the Dayton, Ohio region, leaving a path of destruction and debris behind. In the days following the disaster, many agencies rushed in to provide relief. The Salvation Army is one such group providing relief.
