Dr. James Leak III

Faculty Profile: Dr. James Leak Completes Doctorate

Dr. James G. Leak III is a seasoned ministry leader, serving in Christian and secular settings as a mentor to men and women. Dr. Leak’s ministry and service leadership spans over two decades. He began leading in college as president of his freshman class and of the campus ministry chapter.

In 1995, James founded Inner City Mission with two locations in Williamsburg, Virginia. As Executive Director he focused the mission's after-school tutorial and character development program on serving less-fortunate minority adolescents. In 1998, James was licensed in ministry and, in 2003, was ordained an elder in Father House Church. Over the past 25 years, James helped plant three new churches in Virginia and Georgia, while serving in leader roles for Assurant, Inc., a Fortune 500 insurance company.

An adjunct faculty member for several universities, Dr. Leak teaches management and leadership. He is also Executive Pastor for New Harvester International Ministries in Suwanee, GA, where he oversees adult education and other programs under direction of Bishop Dr. Glenn Collier, Senior Pastor.

Dr. Leak earned his bachelor degree in Strategic Communication from Hampton University, his masters in General Management from Regent University, and his doctorate in Organizational Leadership from Argosy University. He is married to Vanessa, and their children are Constance, James IV, Judah, Jeremiah, Justice, Cathryn Grace, and Clarion.
