Ohio Christian University is proud to present A Festival of Carols, live and in-person! After a hiatus of two years, the production is back and the university looks forward to sharing this musical Christmas gift with our neighbors and community. Last year was canceled due to a spike in Covid cases in the weeks leading up to the production. The previous year the Music Department presented a virtual live event that was streamed due to restrictions on gatherings at the time, also due to Covid. Tickets are free, but required. There are two performances: Saturday, December 3rd at 6:00pm with a prelude at 5:30pm and Sunday, December 4th at 3:00pm with a prelude at 2:30pm in the Ministry & Performing Arts Center on campus in Circleville Ohio.

This year, the Music Department presents "Love Was Born" as the theme for Festival of Carols. Dr. Dione Bennett, Director of Choral and Vocal Studies, said this of the 2022 theme:

Love was born at Christmas. The prophecy was given that times would be crazy. And I believe these are those crazy times. In the midst of hardship, sickness, war, famine, heartache, loss... UNTO US A CHILD IS BORN. His name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, the Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, and the Prince of Peace! What a hope!!!

When, at a time when we need love the most, let us reflect on God’s love and what it means. It means light. It means life; He came that we might have life more abundantly. It means peace; He came to give us peace that surpasses all understanding.

It means love... He loves us so much, that He would send His only Son to save us. Let us reflect on that. And His love will hold us... His love will carry us... His love will cradle us.

Love was born at Christmas!
