Mark Lee caught the attention of Ohio Christian University and the
surrounding community with his witty sense of humor and passion for sharing
Christ with others. Lee is a founding member and guitarist for popular
Christian band Third Day. During his “An Evening with Mark Lee” concert
on Sept. 16, Lee shared his music as well as stories from his own life.
During the concert, Lee shared a part of his testimony from his recent book
“Hurt Road.” Lee told the audience how his leg was badly injured as a
result of an accident with a truck. It was during this down time as his leg

Ohio Christian University will host the 7th annual Josias Rodriguez 5k
Run/Walk on Saturday, Oct. 12. The event is held in honor of Josias
Rodriguez, a student who tragically lost his life in a hiking incident.
Josias was known for his passion for Christ and for how he inspired the
people around him.
“Today, Josias’ example is one that has laid the foundation for future
students to pursue their dreams of being in ministry and an example that
reminds us of the race that we must also finish,” said Nancy Wilcox, a
close friend of Josias. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Josias

Evening with Mark Lee,” organized by Living by Faith Ministries. Lee is a
founding member and guitarist for popular Christian rock band Third Day. The
concert will be taking place on Sept. 16 from 7:00-8:30 pm, with doors

Campus Hosting 26th Annual Quilt Show

Ohio Christian University is delighted to welcome the Goodtime Quilters Guild
to campus for the fourth year in a row. The guild will be holding their 26th
annual Quilt Show in the Maxwell Center on August 1-3. One of the organizers
and president of the guild Judy Clifton expects the show to attract over
1,300 guests.
“The quilt show is something we do to be an entertainment and to show what
we do,” Clifton said. “We’ll hang 180 to 200 quilts. The talent of
these ladies is just phenomenal, they just do fabulous work.”
The show is the 145-member guild’s biggest event of the year. It

Ohio Christian University is excited to celebrate with the City of
Circleville for the 109th Annual Pumpkin Show. OCU Students and Staff will
man booths, perform, and ride on the OCU Float in the parades.
Reaching out and engaging the community is always a priority for Ohio
Christian, and the Pumpkin show is just one of many times we use our
resources to join with our community. The Show, which is held to celebrate
local agriculture, is led by the Circleville Pumpkin Show Corporation and
kicks off on Wednesday October 21st.

More than 700 Ohio Christian University students paid it forward by serving
the local church and community last week during OCU’s annual Church Service
Day. Student teams assisted with landscaping, painting, cleaning, organizing,
and general maintenance projects at 44 locations in Pickaway County and the
surrounding areas including the Ted Lewis Museum, the Pickaway County Welcome
Center, Crossroads Church, First Baptist Church, and Heritage Nazarene
