

Ohio Christian University (OCU) is excited to announce that it has been awarded a grant that will enable OCU to double the capacity of its Internet connection. The increase will benefit all students in their educational pursuits. In this current Digital Age, the Internet is utilized in all aspects of the learning process. It provides a powerful source of information as well as a means for communicating and collaborating with peers and faculty. The grant is intended to assist with providing the tools needed to spur innovation and prepare students for the workforce. The grant is part of an initiative supported by Governor Kasich that seeks to expand the state-wide network infrastructure (https://oar.net/network/100gbps) to foster economic growth and innovation in the state of Ohio.

Dr. Malon Mimms Provides $2.5 Million Gift

OCU is pleased to announce that Atlanta businessman Dr. Malon Mimms has
gifted a 2.55 million dollar building and property in Atlanta, Georgia.The
building is located on I-75 and will be used to establish the second Georgia
educational site for OCU. In giving the gift, Dr. Mimms expressed a hope to
provide a great opportunity for the Atlanta area by investing in Ohio
Christian University. Dr. Mimms also expressed that he hopes others will be
inspired to give to the cause of Christian education.OCU will use the
building to offer AIM evening classes designed for busy adults.

Dr. Hank Kelly, Dr. Tim Eades, and Heidi Frederick presented "Quality Adult
Education: Focus on Curriculum, Faculty, and Students" at two conferences
this spring. Their presentation focused on how to meet the unique needs of
adult students through writing strong curricula, hiring academically and
experientially qualified faculty, and providing excellent student services.
Adult students have a wealth of background experiences that also serves as a
rich source of content and adults value relevancy. They have the self-concept
and motivation to learn in the right environment, and Ohio

Ohio Christian University seeks qualified faculty of the highest caliber. In
the fall semester, four OCU faculty earned doctorates. Congratulations to
Drs. Jacob Dodson, Sylvia McDonald, David Uhl, and Kelvin Webb. These faculty
lead the way in demonstrating life-long learning for their students.
Dr. Jacob D. Dodson has been an adjunct faculty member since 2009. He earned
the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Christian Theology from Regent
University. He also holds a Master of Arts in Biblical Studies from Ashland
Theological Seminary. Dr. Dodson has contributed articles to the

Hallmark Year for Ohio Christian University Accreditation

Ohio Christian University was visited March 29-31 by the Higher Learning
Commission, which accredits all universities in Ohio. The visiting team gave
OCU a glowing report. The team met with administrators, staff, trustees, and
students along with alumni and community leaders. This is the third team to
visit Ohio Christian University this year, with the Ohio Board of Regents
recommending 10 years of reaccreditation and the national Teacher Education
Accreditation Council recommending full accreditation approval of Ohio
Christian University's Teacher Education program. Students can now
