PORTSMOUTH, OH -- Facing the Bears of Shawnee State University, the Ohio Christian University Lady Trailblazers traveled south last night for a lone Tuesday matchup for their 2021 season opener.

Shawnee State came out ready to play, as the opening set they had two 4pt rallies that drew the energy out of the Lady Trailblazers and it ended 25-12.

The second and third sets unfortunately were not much better for the Lady Trailblazers. Shawnee and Ohio Christian went back and forth with a tug-of-war beginning to the second set, but that was quickly ended with a 10pt rally from the Bears to end set two. Set three was also closed out with a 10pt rally coming from the Bears.

Head Coach Ally Coyle had this to say about the match, "We came into this matchup knowing we had a battle on our hands and unfortunately the results didn't pan out as planned. We did see several things that we can build on and perfect before our next match. We had so many fans come out and I can't wait to see everyone come out to our game at Carlow in a couple weeks!."

Next match for your Lady Trailblazer Volleyball team comes up in two weeks on Sept 14th against Carlow University in Pittsburgh, PA at 7pm!
