CIRCLEVILLE, OH – Following a two game skid, the Ohio Christian University Lady Trailblazers got back in the win column on Thursday night by defeating the Bearcats of Brescia University 79-50. With the win, the Lady Trailblazers get back to .500 in conference play.
OCU began the night hot on both ends of the floor, holding the Bearcats to 13 points in the opening 10 minutes while they posted 27. The defensive intensity improved even more in the second quarter, as the Lady Trailblazers outscored Brescia 20-4 to take a commanding 47-17 halftime lead.
In the second half, the Bearcats tried to cut into the lead but would ultimately fall short due to 25 team turnovers and a 27.3 FG%. Offensively, the Lady Trailblazers posted a 46 FG% and shot 85% from the line to help power the big win.
Both Staci Pertuset (SR/West Union, OH) and Rachel Gillum (FR/Springboro, OH) finished with 15-point performances, while Carolane Cox (SR/Chillicothe, OH) and Makayla DeArmond (SO/Springfield, OH) also finished in double figures with 13 and 10.

Ohio Christian University is hosting Pizza and Points for youth groups and
prospective students to cheer on the Ohio Christian University Trailblazers
during the Men’s Basketball game against the Alice Lloyd College Eagles on
January 29th at 1pm.
The free event includes admission to the game, pizza, giveaways and face
painting. In addition, high school juniors and seniors can enter to shoot a
half court shot for a chance to win a $12,000 scholarship!

CIRCLEVILLE, OH - One day prior to taking their team into the River States
Conference championship against Indiana University Southeast, Staci Pertuset
(1st Team) and Rachel Gillum (2nd Team) each were named All-RSC members on
Monday afternoon. The nominations came from each head coach around the
conference. Pertuset has put an exclamation point on her career at OCU,
averaging mindboggling numbers of 20.8 PPG, 8.2 RPG, and 4.4 APG. She also
currently ranks #1 in NAIA DII for steals (153) and steals per game (5.1). On
February 8th, Pertuset set a new career high with 40 points against

CIRCLEVILLE, OH - Following the conclusion of the 2019-20 season, Sophomore
Justin Barksdale has been named All-RSC First Team by the conference's head
coaches. Barksdale joined nine others from around the conference to be named
first team members. Overall, Barksdale put up numbers of 16.1 PPG and 9.0
RPG, averaging just short of a double double. In total, Barksdale finished
the year with 452 points and 251 rebounds, while shooting 53.4% from the
field. Barksdale helped lead his squad to their first appearance in the

MIDWAY, KY – In the team's first playoff appearance in three years, Head
Coach Brenda Baker and the Lady Trailblazers came hungry for a win on
Wednesday, as they knocked off #2 seed Midway University on the road 79-67.
Ohio Christian will now return home for a semi-final matchup with the #4 seed
Cougars of Indiana University Kokomo. Despite seeing starting PG Carolane
Cox (SR/Chillicothe, OH) leave the game due to injury less than a minute into
the game, the Lady Trailblazers quickly established their presence with a
