CIRCLEVILLE, OH – Following a two game skid, the Ohio Christian University Lady Trailblazers got back in the win column on Thursday night by defeating the Bearcats of Brescia University 79-50. With the win, the Lady Trailblazers get back to .500 in conference play.
OCU began the night hot on both ends of the floor, holding the Bearcats to 13 points in the opening 10 minutes while they posted 27. The defensive intensity improved even more in the second quarter, as the Lady Trailblazers outscored Brescia 20-4 to take a commanding 47-17 halftime lead.
In the second half, the Bearcats tried to cut into the lead but would ultimately fall short due to 25 team turnovers and a 27.3 FG%. Offensively, the Lady Trailblazers posted a 46 FG% and shot 85% from the line to help power the big win.
Both Staci Pertuset (SR/West Union, OH) and Rachel Gillum (FR/Springboro, OH) finished with 15-point performances, while Carolane Cox (SR/Chillicothe, OH) and Makayla DeArmond (SO/Springfield, OH) also finished in double figures with 13 and 10.
