CIRCLEVILLE, OH - The Lady Trailblazers took to the pitch with victory in their sights. Unfortunately Asbury had a different opinion on the match.
The first half began with a quick goal from the Eagles in the 6th minute to set the tone for the match, but another goal was not scored until Karissa Buttelwerth got a goal of her own in the 24th minute. The Eagles followed it up with their second goal of the match two minutes later to end the half at a score of 1-2 with Asbury in the lead.
Asbury took control of the second half as they attacked from all corners of the field. The Trailblazers were overwhelmed on the defensive end and couldn't contain the Eagles enough to keep them out. Offensively, the Trailblazers could not hold up in the second half and it showed with no additional goals scored in the second half.
Assistant Coach Good had this to say about the match, "We started the game on the right foot, but as the game went on, we started to tire out and grew frustrated by the way Asbury played. I give full credit to Asbury because they are a quality side, but there are still things we need to improve upon continuing into conference play."
The women's team will be back on the pitch tomorrow at 1pm at Midway University.
