PITTSBURGH, PA – The Ohio Christian University Lady Trailblazers played the Celtics of Carlow University on Saturday, competing in less than ideal weather conditions of cold temperatures and consistent rain. After 110 minutes of play, the match ended in a 1-1 tie.
Ohio Christian opened the scoring in the 23rd minute on a goal by Brooke Lezotte (SR/Waynesville, OH), assisted by Rachel Lawwell (SR/Pataskala, OH). Six minutes later, the Celtics evened the score on a goal from Alexa Schwab, ending the scoring for both teams.
Each squad had their fair chance to pull ahead, as each team finished with more than five shots on goal. Lezotte led the squad with three shots on goal, while five other Lady Trailblazers each finished with one.
"I thought we did a good job of coming off a tough loss at home," said Head Coach Jake Warren. "Carlow is a good team and we battled some tough weather today. We had a chance on goal to come away with a win, but overall the effort was very good!"
Now standing in third place alone in the River States Conference, the Lady Trailblazers will host the Cougars of Indiana University Kokomo on October 19th.
