Dr. Monty Lobb is the new Dean of School of Business and Government at OCU

CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio — Ohio Christian University is pleased to announce that Dr. Monty Lobb will assume the duties of Dean of the School of Business and Government on June 1, 2016, upon Dr. Dave Garrison’s retirement. Dr. Garrison will now become Dean Emeritus, which is a lifelong appointment.

Dr. Monty Lobb, OCU professor since 2012 and former Assistant Secretary of State of Ohio, holds his J.D. from University of Dayton School of Law, his B.A. from Olivet Nazarene University, and he also earned undergraduate credits from New College at the University of Oxford. Dr. Lobb is president of Kenosis Ltd., an organizational change consulting firm, where he teaches and mentors leaders to be the message of high character. His other professional accomplishments include serving as President of Citizen for Community Values in Cincinnati and serving as Chairman of Common Ground Ministries, a transitional homeless program in Over-the-Rhine.

Dr. Garrison has been with OCU since 2008, first as Chair of the Business and Government Department and then as Dean of the nation's first School of Business and Government in January 2014. He will continue to pursue his political and financial interests in his home state of Texas.

Dr. Lobb is excited to move into his new role saying, “I’m honored to accept the position of Dean of the School of Business and Government here at OCU, and I look forward to expanding the department and training many more students to be Christian leaders in business and government.”

Dr. Lobb comes from a wide background of experience; he co-founded Advocacy for HOPE in 2006, a group that gives voice to the reentry needs of prisoners and their families while maintaining the call for restitution. In his role as Assistant Secretary of State of Ohio, he focused on policy development, strategic planning, and running the Ohio Center for Civic Character.

Ohio Christian University is excited for the new ideas and fresh perspective that Dr. Lobb’s decades of experience brings to the position.
