Men's Soccer Score A Win Against Rivals KCU

The OCU Men played their first home match against Kentucky Christian and came out with a win with a big support from their fans. "We had a great turn out today. Everyone that came out must know that it helped us in a close game today", mentioned Coach Murton.

Scoring first was Emmanuel Harris with an assist from Dexter Chapman, who left the game to get stitched for a hard challenge, in the only score in the first half. Emmanuel put in the second score by beating 5 defenders to the goal in an amazing display of ability to take the lead to 2-0. KCU, who was undefeated in the region, was not to go away without a fight and put one in at the 75th minute, but that was all the OCU men would give up. There was another ball that ended in the back of the net, but the sideline ref was in great position to make the call of it going out of bounds before it went into the goal. The KCU sideline errupted but to no avail as the OCU men went on for the win.

"KCU came to play today and they are a solid soccer team. I think we were a bit off today because we really haven't run into a close game yet so it gave us an opportunity to see how we would respond."

The Blazer men continue in regional play this Friday and Saturday at home versus Johnson Bible and Crown College.
