Follow Christ, Lead the Way

Oakland City, Indiana – In their spring season opener, the Ohio Christian men's soccer team traveled to Aigner Soccer Field to face off against the Mighty Oaks on Saturday at noon. Despite scoring a late goal in the second half, the Mighty Oaks edged past the Ohio Christian University Trailblazers in a competitive match with a final score of 3-1.

The Mighty Oaks opened the match quickly, scoring the first goal under 3 minutes in the first half. Ohio Christian fought hard to earn a right-footed volley goal scored by Blake Battogtokh (FR/Arlington, VA) in the dying minutes of the game. However, the Mighty Oaks had the advantage with their three leading goals.

In total, the Mighty Oaks rocketed 13 shots on goal and had 12 corner kicks. In goal, Noah Murphy (SO/Heath, OH) had 10 saves, while Trey Current (SR/Leesburg, OH) launched two shots on goal.

Ohio Christian will have the chance to show their hunger on Thursday, as they play their second game of the Spring season away against Indiana University East.
