Ohio Christian University graduates celebrated their Commencement on Saturday, April 7, at Divine Faith Church in Jonesboro, Georgia.
One hundred and thirty-three graduates received their degrees from President Jon S. Kulaga and Vice President Bradford Sample.
Georgia Senator Emanuel Jones spoke about how Jesus is the ‘game changer’ and challenged graduates to seek to be like Him.
Jones represents Georgia's 10th District, sitting on the Banking and Financial Institutions, Economic Development and Tourism, Interstate Cooperation, Special Judiciary and Retirement Committees. He holds his MBA from Columbia University, BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania, and was class valedictorian at Atlanta’s West Fulton High School.
Memorable moments of the ceremony include students dancing across the stage and newly-graduated George Wright ‘face timing’ the event on his smart phone while crossing the stage to receive his diploma from Drs. Kulaga and Sample. The commencement was filled with such expressions of hope and joy from all those participating. Many graduates donated to the new Blue Cord Campaign.
Friday evening’s reception provided the opportunity for graduates William Cooper and Paula Mason to share stories of how they nearly gave up during their programs but pushed through as the Lord sustained them. The graduates very much enjoyed one-on-one conversations with Dr. Kulaga during the reception.
