Overlook of the 25th Annual Quilt Show held in 2018

Ohio Christian University is delighted to welcome the Goodtime Quilters Guild to campus for the fourth year in a row. The guild will be holding their 26th annual Quilt Show in the Maxwell Center on August 1-3. One of the organizers and president of the guild Judy Clifton expects the show to attract over 1,300 guests.

“The quilt show is something we do to be an entertainment and to show what we do,” Clifton said. “We’ll hang 180 to 200 quilts. The talent of these ladies is just phenomenal, they just do fabulous work.”

The show is the 145-member guild’s biggest event of the year. It requires the participation of every member and will bring in 19 vendors from multiple states selling fabrics and other quilting materials. There will also be a silent auction for guest to purchase small, quilted items. There will also be a sales room with quilts and materials for sale.

A handful of vendors that will be at the event are: The Good Life from Jeffersonville, Ohio; Nelsonville Quilt Co. from Nelsonville, Ohio; and Bolts & Quarters from Parkersburg, West Virginia. Food will also be available from Elegant Eats Catering.

Clifton expressed her joy in being able to return to Ohio Christian for the Quilt Show, listing a number of benefits the location has for her guild.

“There are so many positive parts to being here,” Clifton said. “We have the advantage of having more room, the lighting is phenomenal – it makes everything so pretty to look at… and everyone here is always so friendly and so kind to us.”

There is a $6 door charge for visitors to the show, which has historically drawn guests from across the state and surrounding states.

“People can’t wait to come because we have so many vendors and have so much to offer,” Clifton said. “Last year we had two busloads come – one from West Virginia.”

Ohio Christian is excited to host such a large part of the Circleville community and the guest who visit our beautiful campus accentuated by the talented quilting on display.
