Follow Christ, Lead the Way
Mark Lee Performs on Campus image

Mark Lee caught the attention of Ohio Christian University and the surrounding community with his witty sense of humor and passion for sharing Christ with others. Lee is a founding member and guitarist for popular Christian band Third Day. During his “An Evening with Mark Lee” concert on Sept. 16, Lee shared his music as well as stories from his own life.

During the concert, Lee shared a part of his testimony from his recent book “Hurt Road.” Lee told the audience how his leg was badly injured as a result of an accident with a truck. It was during this down time as his leg was healing that he learned to play guitar. With his newfound musical talent, Lee began forming the band that is now known as Third Day. “God used even that low moment of my life for good,” he said.

Everybody either has or will go through a crisis at some point in their lives, but Lee encouraged audience members to remember that God can use even these moments for good.

“Everybody has their own Hurt Road,” Lee said. “None of these things would have happened if it weren’t for that low moment.”

It is from these life experiences that Lee developed a passion for helping others. During the show, Lee gave members of the audience an opportunity to sponsor a child through ChildFund Internationalâ. Throughout his tours both independently and with Third Day, Lee has encouraged the sponsorship of over fifty-thousand children.

“This is why I do what I do,” Lee said. “So, I can get involved and help with these big issues around the world.”
