CIRCLEVILLE, OH – The Ohio Christian University Athletic Department was pleased to once again host the boys and girls state basketball championships for the Ohio Christian School Athletic Association (OCSAA) on March 1-2. Ohio Christian has been a long-standing supporter of the OCSAA, hosting both their Fall and Winter championships in soccer, volleyball, and basketball.

The 2019 Final Four consised of eight games including four semifinals, two consolation games, and two championship games. On the girl’s side, the New Hope Lady Statesmen took the state title, while the Sabres from First Baptist took the boy’s state title. 

In total, the weekend games were viewed by over 7,000 individuals on Facebook Live through the Trailblazer Athletic page. The event is a quality opportunity to draw high school students to campus with the hopes of recruiting them to attend Ohio Christian following graduation.

NEW ALBANY, IN – After finishing the 2018-19 season with only one River States Conference victory, the Ohio Christian University Lady Trailblazers were one of the last teams expected to succeed in 2019-20. Despite the expectations, the Lady Trailblazers proved the doubters otherwise, finishing a stellar RSC Tournament run with a 95-82 win in the title game against Indiana University Southeast on Tuesday night.

CIRCLEVILLE, OH - One day prior to taking their team into the River States Conference championship against Indiana University Southeast, Staci Pertuset (1st Team) and Rachel Gillum (2nd Team) each were named All-RSC members on Monday afternoon. The nominations came from each head coach around the conference. Pertuset has put an exclamation point on her career at OCU, averaging mindboggling numbers of 20.8 PPG, 8.2 RPG, and 4.4 APG. She also currently ranks #1 in NAIA DII for steals (153) and steals per game (5.1). On February 8th, Pertuset set a new career high with 40 points against

CIRCLEVILLE, OH - Following the conclusion of the 2019-20 season, Sophomore Justin Barksdale has been named All-RSC First Team by the conference's head coaches. Barksdale joined nine others from around the conference to be named first team members. Overall, Barksdale put up numbers of 16.1 PPG and 9.0 RPG, averaging just short of a double double. In total, Barksdale finished the year with 452 points and 251 rebounds, while shooting 53.4% from the field. Barksdale helped lead his squad to their first appearance in the River States Conference Tournament since 2018. For the complete list

MIDWAY, KY – In the team's first playoff appearance in three years, Head Coach Brenda Baker and the Lady Trailblazers came hungry for a win on Wednesday, as they knocked off #2 seed Midway University on the road 79-67.
