Commission’s Persistence and Completion Academy for the past two years.
This group of around 20 institutions collaborate on ideas to improve

Atlanta Site Honored by the Clayton County Chamber of Commerce

Last week, Ohio Christian University’s Atlanta site in Georgia was awarded
Member of the Week by the Clayton County Chamber of Commerce for outstanding
commitment and service to the community. President of the Chamber Monica
Colbert presented the award with two other members of the chamber to the
campus. The Atlanta site has been a member of the Chamber for four years and
has worked hard to impact the surrounding community, which boast over 6000
businesses.

chapel for community events, including several job fairs

Remembering D-Day 75 Years Later

On June 6th 1944, more than 160,000 Allied troops landed on the shores of
Normandy to fight Nazi Germany. General Dwight D. Eisenhower described the
operation as a crusade in which “we will accept nothing less than full
victory.” The bravery and strength shown on this day allowed soldiers to
infiltrate Europe and work to combat Adolf Hitler. D-Day commemorates the
first day of the Normandy landings and is still honored and remembered 75
years later.

Ohio Christian University is grateful for those who paid the ultimate price
for our freedom. It is with appreciation that we celebrate with our fellow
Americans in observing Memorial Day. Previously known as Decoration Day,
Memorial Day is a federal holiday for remembering and honoring persons who
have died while serving in the United States Armed Forces.
On a personal level, I love history and all things patriotic, as does my
wife. As such, our family has developed a tradition of attending a Memorial

The wife of Rev. Morton Dorsey, Ohio Christian University’s 5th president,
Sarah Dorsey, passed away at Fox Run Manor in Findlay, Ohio on Monday, May
6th, 2019. Rev. Dorsey served as the president from 1959-1964. During
Dorsey's years at Ohio Christian University, the Ohio Board of Education
awarded the University its first State Charter.
Sarah became very involved with the University while her husband was
president. She taught music and was the choir director during their time
here. We are grateful for everything Sarah and Rev. Morton Dorsey did for

OCU Professor Heads Prestigious Accrediting Committee

OCU Professor Dr. Joe Brown has been appointed to lead a Review Committee for
the Association for Biblical Higher Education. Brown was the OCU Vice
President for Academic Affairs for 12 years before stepping into a part-time
teaching roll last spring. In addition to teaching undergraduate and
graduate classes, Brown leads OCU’s Master of Arts in Ministry program that
had its first graduates last spring.Brown said of the appointment, “I am
excited about the challenge and humbled by the responsibility.” OCU Provost
Hank Kelly commented, “Dr. Brown has contributed so much to Ohio

OCU Announces New Chaplain for Adult Program

Ohio Christian University (OCU) is pleased to announce a new chaplain who
will serve students in the College of Adult and Graduate Studies. Pastor M.
R. McCrary (Pastor Mac) hails from a small community in southern Indiana,
where he began in ministry as a teenager. By age 19, he had answered the call
to pastoral ministry and has since given 55 years of his life to pastoral and
evangelical service. Pastor Mac notes the highlight of his ministry has been
“working with students and youth.”As the Chaplain for Adult and Graduate
students, Pastor Mac will support OCU students on their

Ohio Christian University (OCU) is excited to announce that it has been
awarded a grant that will enable OCU to double the capacity of its Internet
connection. The increase will benefit all students in their educational
pursuits. In this current Digital Age, the Internet is utilized in all
aspects of the learning process. It provides a powerful source of information
as well as a means for communicating and collaborating with peers and
faculty. The grant is intended to assist with providing the tools needed to
spur innovation and prepare students for the workforce. The grant is part of

Ohio Christian University recently launched a Storytellers Guild at the
Circleville campus. The Guild is made up of staff, faculty, community
members, and students who believe in the power, and the wonder of
storytelling. The group was started to promote the art of storytelling,
and to foster the growth and development of storytellers. OCU’s
Storytelling Guild is not just for kids, or those studying to work with
kids. The idea of storytelling is beneficial for all majors at the
university. Stories are how we communicate with each other. Stories are

Ohio Christian University (OCU) received word that it is now approved to
offer the Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Management.
This was the final approval required from the Higher Learning Commission, the
regional accreditation organization. Beginning in August, these programs will
be offered through OCU’s convenient College of Adult and Graduate Studies
with the option of taking online or one-night-a-week evening classes.Dr. Tim
Eades, Vice President for the College of Adult and Graduate Studies, stated,
“We determined the need for these programs by surveying
