The School of Business & Government® 2019 Business Plan Competition is an annual event which is already underway. This competition gives students a chance to develop and pitch a business plan giving real-world value. There are four rounds in which students compete and receive valuable feedback from judges who are business people themselves.
In the first round of the competition, Business & Government professors evaluated the submitted business plans and selected the top ten moving on to round two, which entails a complete presentation pitching their business plans to the panel of judges. In the third round, the top five students or teams pitched to the judges with printed materials showcasing their presentations. Students gain valuable experience in the planning, skills, and knowledge necessary to develop a business plan while given the opportunity to consult with faculty advisors.
The fourth and final round will be Tuesday, April 9 where the finalists present their PowerPoint and written plans to the judges. The competition culminates with a banquet that evening where the top ten finalists and their guests enjoy an exciting evening as the top five winners of the competition are revealed and awarded cash prizes, the top prize being $5,000.
