Ohio Christian University was happy to host the Youth Explosion camp on July 25 through 28. The camp was organized by the Marion Christian Center’s Youth Ministry. The event was meant to provide the opportunity to experience God in a real and impactful way.
“This year, the theme is that God made them special and how to discover their gifts and talents to glorify Him” said Marion Christian Center Lead Pastor Perry Payne.
Each day of camp kicked off with a student led devotional going over the Beatitudes of Jesus followed by real life breakout sessions. After lunch, students participated in their choice of “Destiny Workshops” where they learned how to be led by the Holy Spirit in areas like art, music, and drama. Workshops were also available for youth to learn how to live a supernatural lifestyle and discover God’s will for their lives. Kids then had free time until dinner.
Pastor Payne expressed excitement for the camp’s concluding events on Saturday night, “when everybody gets to do their fun stuff. When they do the dramas and when they show their hearts.”
Payne said he is encouraged every year to see the impact the event has on students for Christ. Ohio Christian is proud to play a part in developing young minds for Christ, that they may grow to be world-impacting servant leaders.
