Ohio Christian University will host the 7th annual Josias Rodriguez 5k Run/Walk on Saturday, Oct. 12. The event is held in honor of Josias Rodriguez, a student who tragically lost his life in a hiking incident. Josias was known for his passion for Christ and for how he inspired the people around him.
“Today, Josias’ example is one that has laid the foundation for future students to pursue their dreams of being in ministry and an example that reminds us of the race that we must also finish,” said Nancy Wilcox, a close friend of Josias. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Josias Rodriguez Scholarship Fund which supports ministry students at Ohio Christian, helping current students to finish the race.
Starting and finishing near the University’s Detty Chapel, the course will take participants through campus and Roundtown Trail. The race will be professionally timed with runners receiving a technical T-shirt. Snacks will also be provided at the end of the race.
The race will begin at 8:30 am, with packet pick up beginning at 7:30 in the Ministry & Performing Arts Center. To find out more about Josias' legacy, click here. The entry fee for the event is $25. Participants can register at www.OhioChristian.edu/5k.
