ROCHESTER, MI – The Ohio Christian men's basketball traveled up to NCAA Division 1 Oakland University for an exhibition picked up just yesterday due to postponed games on both schedules. The Golden Grizzlies from the Horizon League came into this game with an 8-4 record while the Trailblazers entered with a record of 2-11.

The Trailblazers stayed close with Oakland for the beginning of the game with the score at the first media time out being 10-18. Ohio Christian continued to battle throughout the first half, but around the 10-minute mark is when the Golden Grizzlies started to become more consistent with their scoring going on a 29-4 run. The halftime score between the two teams was 18 for the Trailblazers and 53 for the Golden Grizzlies. Jimmy Salamone led his team in scoring with five points with his team shooting at just a 25 FG% clip.

As the second half began, the Golden Grizzlies and the Trailblazers continued to trade back-and-forth blows with the team from Oakland outscoring Ohio Christian 21-11 in the first eight minutes. Oakland did not let up and the final score ended with Ohio Christian being taken down to the tune of 40-108. Devon Miller led the Trailblazers with a decent stat line in 12 points and six rebounds on a 4-9 shooting night. Salamone finished tonight as Ohio Christian's second leading scorer with seven points of his own. The team as a whole shot at a 28.6% clip from field goal range.

This being an exhibition, it will not go towards Ohio Christian's overall record, and they remain at 2-11 with their next game coming next Thursday against Indiana University Southeast as the Grenadiers come into Circleville for some conference play where they stand 3-4 in the RSC, while Ohio Christian stands 1-4. The game is set to tip off at 7pm EST at The Maxwell Center.
