MOUNT VERNON, OH - The Ohio Christian University Trailblazers (0-3-0) continued their unfortunate win drought against the Mount Vernon Nazarene University Cougars (3-0-0) last Saturday as they walked into an MVNU firing squad.

The first half gave the Cougars a hat trick when freshman forward Zack Bowser scored in the 18th, 34th and the 38th minutes. Freshman midfielder Ben McLernan scored a pair of goals in the first half as well, accompanied by single goals scored by junior midfielder Josh Sitney, freshman midfielder Manuel Flores, and another freshman midfielder Aaron Jolly scoring his first collegiate goal ending the first half 0-8, Cougars.

The second half did not seem too much better for the Trailblazers, although they did match the Cougars lone goal by Manuel Flores with their own from freshman defender Herminio Cruz. Ohio Christian's goalkeeper, Madior Mbaye, ended the night with 3 saves to MVNU's keeper's 0 saves.

Head Coach George Arroyo had this to say, "We need to find the defensive mindset needed to overcome an offense-forward team like this Mount Vernon team was tonight. We will certainly be working on this for this next week as well as in our scrimmage against Alice Lloyd this coming Thursday. I believe this team can definitely rise above this early bump in the road. God's got this. Whether it's a win or a loss, this is all for Him in His name. See you on the pitch Thursday."

As Coach said, the Trailblazers seek another scrimmage, this time against the Eagles of Alice Lloyd College at home this Thursday, September 9th.
