CIRCLEVILLE, OH – In accordance with the Ohio Department of Health (ODH), the River States Conference (RSC), and the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), Ohio Christian University Athletics has announced their 2020 Fall attendance policy for all athletic contests hosted on campus. This will include the sports of men's soccer, women's soccer, and volleyball.
In order to protect the health and safety of our student-athletes, staff, and spectators, Ohio Christian has put the following policies in place. Spectators planning on attending events on campus this Fall should verify the policies prior to travel. This document is subject to change in accordance with state and federal guidelines at any time.
THE FOLLOWING GUIDELINES HAVE BEEN DEVLEOPED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE OHIO DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH'S DIRECTOR'S ORDERS RELEASED ON AUGUST 19, 2020. THESE ORDERS CAN BE FOUND HERE
Admission to home volleyball events will be closed to the general public, allowing only OCU Family, OCU students, Staff, Faculty, and Administrators (Total capacity of 60). No visiting spectators will be allowed to attend volleyball matches. Admission to home soccer events will be open to the general public, with an overall maximum capacity of 1,200.
In accordance with the ODH's Director's Order released on August 19th, "the maximum number of individuals gathered in any outdoor sports venue is the lesser of 1,500 or 15 percent of fixed seating capacity. For indoor facilities, the maximum number of individuals gathered in any indoor entertainment venue shall be the lesser of 300 spectators or 15 percent of fixed seating capacity.
In following with this order, the maximum number of fans allowed into Ohio Christian University home events will be as follows:
For all indoor events, spectator capacity will be limited to 60 spectators. Twenty of these seats will be administered on a first come, first serve basis and will be available to only OCU Students, Faculty, Staff, and Administrators.
**In order to provide priority to Ohio Christian University volleyball parents, seats will be reserved for up to two family members per student-athlete. All remaining seats will be released five minutes after the start of each contest on a first come first serve basis.
For all outdoor events, spectator capacity will be limited to 1,200 fans. This will be administered on a first come, first serve basis and will be open to the general public.
All admission to 2020 Fall contests will be free of charge.
All home volleyball and soccer contests will be live streamed through our provider and available at https://portal.stretchinternet.com/octrailblazers/
COVID-19 Spectator Policies and Procedures
All spectators that attend a contest on the campus of Ohio Christian University will be required to follow Ohio Christian University mandates as well as the mandates found in the ODH's Director's Orders
All spectators will be required to wear a facial covering while in the facility of the game they are attending. Spectators will be asked to bring their own masks as they will not be provided upon entry.
All spectators will be screened upon entry to the facility. If a spectator screens at a temperature above 99.5 F with a touchless thermometer, they will be asked to return to their vehicle immediately and return in 15 minutes. If the individual screens at a temperature above 99.5 F a second time, they will be asked to return to their vehicle immediately and return in 15 minutes. A third screening will be administered by a medical professional. If screened above 100.4 with the tympanic thermometer, the individual will be denied admission. Once screened, each spectator will receive a hand stamp to verify they have been cleared.
All spectators will be required to socially distance from each other, remaining 6 ft. apart at all times. Those that are with their family may sit with their group of family members. Outdoor seating will be marked with an "X" to indicate designated seating areas.
Hand sanitization will be provided around all facilities, and fans are expected to frequently sanitize to ensure a safe environment.
Concessions will be available on a limited basis. All concessions staff will wear masks and gloves at all times to maintain a safe environment for food preparation and distribution.
Following all contests, interaction between players and fans will be prohibited until outside of the facility.
