Ohio Christian University Scores Weekend Wins
The Ohio Christian University basketball teams picked up two wins over the weekend as they continued nonregional play.
The men's team defeated OSUNewark on Friday 86-69. Tim Baker led the Trailblazers with 28 points and eight rebounds, shooting four-of-five from behind the arc. Dan Garnett added 24 points and Rob Lassiter chipped in 13 points. Point guard Tae Spell finished with eight assists.
On Thursday, the Blazers defeated OU-Lancaster 80-78. Stefan Vasiloff led OCU with 23 points and 16 rebounds, while Tae Spell added 14 points and six assists. Lassiter and Garnett each added 12 points.
The OCU men's basketball team is now 6-4 overall. It will travel to Ohio Dominican University to face the Panthers at 7 tonight.
After a disappointing overtime loss to OU-Lancaster Thursday, the OCU women's basketball team defeated OU Chillicothe on Saturday. Michel Hughes averaged 22.5 points, six assists and eight rebounds in the two games, while Ande Renihan averaged 15 points, nine assists, seven rebounds, and six steals.
The Lady Blazers are now 4-3, with their three losses being by a total deficit of 10 points.
