Orientation Day Added Anticipating Enrollment Growth

On Friday, June 29th, 2018 Ohio Christian University held its third Orientation Day for students enrolled for the 2018-2019 school year.  Fifty new students learned about the fellowship, education, and activities offered at the university.

Fully prepared to ensure incoming students succeed, faculty and staff showed their exceptional level of care and servant leadership in preparing them for the upcoming school year.  Joe Wuest, Assistant Vice President of Student Development, explained that “God created our uniqueness and individuality to impact the world for His Kingdom.” He shared this impact as one goal for students that is supported through the University's Student Life, Academic Services, and Financial Aid staff.

Sherry Taylor, Head of Academic Services, conveyed that college “isn’t just about passing, but about becoming the best you possibly can.” In discussing OCU’s Writing Center and The Bridge Tutoring Center, Taylor explained that “These services are always available to our students. We provide every help for success.  In a national study of 1000 students from January 2018, those who attended academic success services 6-10 times a semester, like those we offer, did far better than students who did not.”

Commuter and resident students noted that they are choosing OCU because of its overall atmosphere.  “Choosing OCU came naturally,” said a very appreciative John Ebaugh.  “I really like that the school is faith-based and the community I felt when I visited."  Similarly, Middle Childhood Education major Liberty Davis, who grew up in Circleville, said she also chose OCU because of its genuine spirit.  “OCU provides a positive atmosphere, and here I can also be close to home."

Joy Davis, Liberty Davis’ mother, shared her impression of the University, “The people here at OCU make its atmosphere and environment stand apart because of the [genuine] kindness they’ve shown to us.  If anyone is considering the school, I encourage them to go check it out and schedule a visit.”

A new Late Registration/Transfer Student Orientation Day is scheduled for Friday, July 27th.  Everyone considering attending OCU is encouraged to schedule a visit and attend this upcoming event.
