The Ohio Christian University Summer Camp Teams have now wrapped up their ministry for 2016. A group of 49 OCU students ministered at 27 camps this summer in seven different states—Ohio, Kentucky, New York, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Georgia, and Indiana.
The students were hand-selected through an application and interview process and received over 50 hours of training in preparation.
Student Camp Leader, Mekayla Deffenbaugh, shared her experience with camp teams saying, "OCU Camp Teams have given me the opportunity to expand my comfort zone, meet amazing people, test my patience, impact kids with God's love, and use my gifts and abilities in a way that can further the Kingdom.”
OCU traveling music ministry team, Ablaze, also served this summer. These students were trained and well prepared to not only lead in worship, but to be camp counselors and lead activities as well.
Brett Wilson, Camp Missionary for Mt. Hope Bible Camp, shared that, “The OCU Camp Teams are consistently focused on developing relationships with campers and teaching them the Gospel. These students are compassionate, caring, and display a level of maturity that is needed in the camp setting."
Please pray for our students as they return to classes next week in the Residential Undergraduate Program.
