Ohio Christian University is excited about launching a new semester of the drama ministry travel team, Living Parables. This group is made up of 14 residential undergraduate students (two teams), including the Student Leaders Brittany Twining and Haley Fowler. The group is under the direction of Mrs. Bethany Bolin, who is a graduate of OCU and possesses many years of teaching and leading drama.
Living Parables ministers in churches, schools and youth events presenting sketches of real-life circumstances which focus on the gospel as well as moral values.

Ohio Christian University welcomed Kids on Campus — a summer enrichment
program for first through fourth graders that allows them to experience
academic life on a college campus, while improving their math, science,
art, and technology skills — for the 13th consecutive.
The program is a partnership with Pickaway WORKS and Ohio Christian
University with generous support from others as well.
Campus rarely lacks youthful exuberance, but having Kids on Campus brought a
child-rich energy. It wasn’t just the adults who enjoyed having the kids
around; the kids had fun too.

Community Action Day - It was a GREAT Day!

April 11th proved to not just be a nice day to be outside, but a great day to
serve the community of Circleville and surrounding areas. In its 20thyear,
Community Action Day brought out over 400 students to serve residents and
businesses who were in need. A tradition at Ohio Christian University,
classes were canceled, and students were able to go into the public and
implement the service attitude taught at OCU.
With help from Volunteer Economy and RPHF Solid Waste District, students were
equipped to effectively serve and feel prepared to do so. Students served in
various capacities

Second Annual Youth Leadership Conference

Over fifty youth leaders from more than thirty churches and organizations
converged on the Ohio Christian University campus for the second annual Youth
Leadership Conference. Anticipation for the conference was met with engaging
and relevant information applicable to those in attendance. The subject
of the day was the importance of actively engaging youth with the reality of
Biblical Truth in these formative years. Dr. Walt Mueller, expert in youth
culture and President of the Center for Parent/Youth Understanding, began the

OCU To Hold Nashville Styled Songwriting Boot Camp

Ohio Christian University will hold its first songwriting conference on March
30 from 9:00 am to 5 pm. Michelle Martin, Coordinator of Worship Arts at OCU,
envisioned this event after experiencing many similar writing workshops in
Nashville, TN.
“My heart for the day was just to create an opportunity for song writers in
central Ohio to come together and get an experience like they might get in
Nashville if they went to a songwriting conference,” Martin said. “The
order of events is very similar to the conferences I’ve been to.”

Grateful woman contributes to student’s tuition after lost iPad returned

“My story begins with my first major mistake of the day,” Mary Burke
stated in a letter addressed to Ohio Christian University. The letter
elaborated on an unfortunate situation with a lost item and how an OCU
student came to the rescue.

have kicked-off for 2016. A group of 49 OCU students will be ministering to
27 camps this summer in seven different states—Ohio, Kentucky, New York,
Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Georgia, and Indiana.
Students scheduled to serve have been hand-selected through an application
and interview process, as well as received over 50 hours of training in
preparation.

Area Students Compete in Reading Quiz Contest at OCU

Ohio Christian University was honored to host the seventh annual Pickaway
County High School and Middle School Battle Over Books competitions on March
18th and May 9th, respectively.
A quiz-show style competition, where teams earn points by providing correct
titles to questions about books, provide a fun and challenging way to
recognize students for their love of reading.
All four Pickaway County high schools —Circleville, Logan Elm, Teays Valley
and Westfall —plus Logan Hocking High School competed in this
year’s high school event. The middle school challenge included Canal

Students serve with World Gospel Mission in Argentina

Ohio Christian University students had the opportunity to minister abroad in
Argentina during Spring Break 2016. Professor Jamey Gremillion, OCU’s
Intercultural Ministries Director, led the team of six, which included
Liliana Burgos, Ben Caplan, Andrew DeMint and Lindsey Lawler, along with
Jammie Wilhelm, who serves as an AGS Director and Professor.
The team had the privilege of remodeling a kitchen for an elderly woman who
feeds nearly 60 neighborhood children every weekday. In two days, the team
removed the old cabinets, storage area and counter-tops, replacing them with

When I first began planning our 2016 OCU WGM Task Force Teams, I knew right
away that this was the team God planned for me to lead. There were no
lightening bolts, no clear direction other than this was the one.
I had the privilege of getting to know my university team members well:
Austin Caldwell, Barbee Graves, Haley Robbins, Austin St. Pierre, Kiirsten
Truex and Andrea Williams. (Yes, we had a high rate of name repetition for
such a small group and, yes, we managed to have to some fun with it along the
