State Representative Rick Carfagna Visits Campus image

On Friday, March 8th, State Representative Rick Carfagna (Chair, Finance Subcommittee on Higher Education) visited Ohio Christian University (OCU). He was welcomed to the president’s office by Dr. Jon Kulaga (President), Ted Perry (Chief Financial Officer) and Craig Brown (Chief Relationship Officer) where the group discussed multiple partnerships related to micro-credentialing, entrepreneurship and workforce development for regional incumbent industry.

Rep. Carfagna received a campus tour from OCU students, then ended his time on campus with a meeting in the Robert W. Plaster Free Enterprise Center. During the meeting with OCU School of Business & Government faculty members and students, Rep. Carfagna queried Sam Church (’20), Student Body President, and Alexis Miller (’20) to gain understanding of how OCU students are being prepared to serve in society and the workforce. Pickaway Progress Partnership staff, Kulaga, Perry, and Brown were able to engage in conversation with students and Rep. Carfagna sharing their heart for OCU and representing private and public partnerships.

When asked about the meetings, Dr. Kulaga remarked, “It was a great pleasure to host Rep. Carfagna and welcome him to our campus. His sincere interest in finding ways to increase and support partnerships that better serve the citizens of Ohio and the workforce development needs of industry is exactly what Ohio Christian University is already doing. His support for both public and private institutions in the state is greatly appreciated.”
