CIRCLEVILLE, OH – Ohio Christian University is pleased to announce that they have been named an NAIA Champions of Character Five-Star Institution for the 2017-18 academic year.
Each year, NAIA schools use the Champions of Character scorecard to measure the pursuit of character-driven athletics. Schools scoring a minimum of 60 out of 100 points earn the Champions of Character Five-Star Institution Award.
The Champions of Character Scorecard measures growth in training, promotion, conduct in competition and commitment in five key areas with a possibility of earning 100 points. Institutions can be recognized as Champions of Character Five-Star Institutions at three different levels: Gold (90-100 points), Silver (75-89 points) and Bronze (60-74 points).
Throughout the year, the Ohio Christian University Athletic Department received points through a multitude of activities and achievements. Some highlights of the year would be hosting the Pickaway County Community Basketball game, participating in the University’s Community Action Day, and serving at a local soup kitchen. The department would also boast a 3.06 GPA for the 2017-18 school year.
This year, 171 NAIA Institutions earned the Champions of Character Five-Star Institution Award. Details on this year's award winners and award web medallions can be found here.

CIRCLEVILLE, OH – The Lady Trailblazer soccer program has been the model of
consistency over the past five years. Reaching the conference tournament for
four consecutive seasons, the Lady Trailblazers have seen success at multiple
levels, all under the leadership of Jake Warren, the squad's head coach.

Students Relax at Fall Fest

On Oct. 28, Ohio Christian University students gathered in a sea of flannels
and costumes to celebrate the annual Fall Fest. The event, hosted by the
Student Involvement Council, is a time for students to gather and celebrate
fall together in the final months before winter.
The celebration included several outdoor games and activities. Some students
tested their aiming skills in archery while others faced off against each
other in a game of cornhole. Other activities included 9 Square, Spikeball,
and KanJam. Spiritual Formation Director Kevin Bennie also provided a hayride

partnership with the university, participated in the 21st annual Ralph C.
Starkey Community Action Day. This year, Ohio Christian partnered with United
Way of Pickaway County to expand the reach and scope by coordinating and
bringing together the organizations individual efforts to serve the
community.

Ohio Christian University’s Head Coach for the Men’s basketball team,
Casey Coons was recently honored by his alma mater. On Oct. 5, Coons was
inducted into Taylor University Athletics 2019 Hall of Fame. Other inductees
included Molly Currens, Tanya Crevier, Rick Atkinson, and Tyler Beachler.
“It was an awesome honor,” Coons said of the induction ceremony. “It
was really cool because all of the other four inductees I know really well.

past Saturday, joining the Class of 2019 that also included Molly Currens,

MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- Ohio Christian University senior Brooke Lezzotte had two
goals in each game last week to earn River States Conference Women's Soccer
Offensive Player of the Week for Sept. 30-Oct. 6. The Waynesville, Ohio,
native supplied all the offense in victories of 2-0 over Rio Grande (Ohio)
and 2-1 over WVU Tech. She had both goals in each of the RSC victories to
push the Trailblazers' record to 7-3 overall and 4-0 RSC. Lezzotte has 14
goals in 10 games to rank 10th in the NAIA for total goals. Ohio Christian
takes its first-place RSC record into Thursday's home game versus
