Trailblazers Boast 37 2019 RSC Fall Scholar Athletes

MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- The 2019 River States Conference Fall Sport
Scholar-Athlete team named 37 Ohio Christian University student-athletes
who made the grade for this season. All five Trailblazer fall sports were
recognized. To be named, student-athletes must have a 3.25 grade-point
average or higher, have at least two semesters of attendance prior to the
current term, participate in an RSC sport and be nominated by their
institution. The NAIA sponsors a similar award program of the
NAIA-Daktronics Scholar-Athlete, which is awarded to juniors and seniors with
a 3.50 GPA or higher.

Education Summit Draws Local and State Representatives

On Friday Nov. 15, teacher education students and professionals gathered on
the campus of Ohio Christian University where they discussed Ohio’s new
“Each Child Our Future” education plan. The event featured government and
education professionals with insight on the new plan and how it will affect
education now and in the future.
The Ohio Department of Education’s vision for the plan is for each child to
be challenged to discover and learn, prepared to pursue a fulfilling
post-high school path, and empowered to become a resilient, lifelong learner

Almost 100 people gathered in the Robert W. Plaster Free Enterprise Center at
Ohio Christian University to attend a Rural Development Forum on Oct. 31. The
event was organized by The Montrose Group LLC and the keynote address was
made by Ohio Lieutenant Governor Jon Husted.
The morning consisted of a number of panel discussions addressing economic
development and challenges facing rural communities. The panels were chaired
by local business leaders, academic professionals, and state and local

Students Relax at Fall Fest

On Oct. 28, Ohio Christian University students gathered in a sea of flannels
and costumes to celebrate the annual Fall Fest. The event, hosted by the
Student Involvement Council, is a time for students to gather and celebrate
fall together in the final months before winter.
The celebration included several outdoor games and activities. Some students
tested their aiming skills in archery while others faced off against each
other in a game of cornhole. Other activities included 9 Square, Spikeball,
and KanJam. Spiritual Formation Director Kevin Bennie also provided a hayride
throughout

Orientation Day Added Anticipating Enrollment Growth

On Friday, June 29th, 2018 Ohio Christian University held its third
Orientation Day for students enrolled for the 2018-2019 school year. Fifty
new students learned about the fellowship, education, and activities offered
at the university.
Fully prepared to ensure incoming students succeed, faculty and staff showed
their exceptional level of care and servant leadership in preparing them for
the upcoming school year. Joe Wuest, Assistant Vice President of Student

performing in Indiana, Georgia, Pennsylvania, and Ohio on these dates at the
following CCCU churches and summer camps, where OCU students are also serving
as camp counselors:
June 10: Community Wesleyan Church, Athens, OH
June 17: Hartsville Church of Christ, Harstville, IN
June 17: Chillicothe Paints Baseball Game, Chillicothe, OH (singing the
national anthem at 6:05 p.m.)
June 19: General CCCU Council, Circleville, OH
June 20-23: Teens of Praise Camp, Circleville, OH
June 24-28: Bible Camp, Maysville
