More than 80 Ohio Christian University Alumni and Friends visited the Columbus Zoo & Aquarium and Zoombezi Bay over the weekend making it the most popular Alumni event of the summer. Beautiful sunshine helped make the day that much more enjoyable. After gathering together for a delicious lunch of hamburgers, hot dogs, potato salad, chips, cookies, and pop, families and friends walked around the zoo taking in the lions and tigers in the Heart of Africa and many bears in the Polar Frontier.

Ohio Christian University is excited to welcome the first annual Forge Leadership Summit – a four-day comprehensive, connected leadership experience for students ages 16-24 part of the Forge Leadership Network. Students will be taught timeless, conservative principles, public policy, and practical skills while participating in a simulation of the legislative process. Forge founders Adam Josefczyk and Justin Powell have been best friends for years – first meeting while working together on a campaign. Their mutual passion for training up the next generation of communicators and influencers in the public square combined with lack of a farm system in the conservative movement led them to found Forge Leadership Network in January 2015. Approximately 50 students will be on campus from July 14-July 18 to participate in the Summit, as well as numerous distinguished speakers including Fmr. Congressman Bob McEwan, State Representative Seth Morgan, Pro-Life Activist Molly Smith, OCU President Mark Smith, Pastor Tim Throckmorton, and many others. Pastor Tim Throckmorton of Crossroads Church says about the lasting impact of Forge, “The future of Faith, Family, and Religious Freedom will be shaped by the very generation that this organization [Forge] will influence. The America my grandchildren will experience will be profoundly touched by Forge, and for that I am deeply grateful.” OCU is excited to be a part of training up the next generation of world-impacting, Christ-following, conservative leaders. OCU offers flexible, online degree programs in business, and leadership and ministry, as well as traditional, four-year programs in government and public service, and government and business.
