Library Step 3A of 5

On the left part of the screen under “Source Types” click to refine your search to just the Academic Journals and Magazines. Larger resources are valuable, but may span multiple subjects or perspectives which increases the time required to focus on a specific topic. This will help narrow your search results for items that are available online immediately for your use.

4. Get resources in “PDF Full Text” or “HTML Full Text” format

There are lots of downloadable PDF documents available. This format is easily stored, transported, and viewed. Many PDF viewers allow for commenting and markups. Downloading the resource also allows you to print it and consume it while away from the computer.

HTML Full text can also be saved for off-line viewing by your browser and can be easily printed and cited when using the tools on the left. It can’t be emailed easily so it is less transferable. If you have the capability it is possible to print the HTML Full Text and choose a printing format on your computer that can “Print as PDF” or “Save as PDF”.

5. Cite the resource

Find the “Cite” button at the right side of the screen near your article title. Then scroll down to “APA 7th Edition”. It can be difficult to correctly and succinctly format the APA citation required for your list of resources. Be sure to gather your citations ahead of time for the paper you are working on and save yourself even more time.
