Academically Speaking…Psychology at OCU
The Psychology program at OCU has been designed to guide the discovery of a student’s unique giftedness as it relates to his/her vocational call. The Bachelor of Arts in Psychology equips the student with a foundational grasp of human behavior and mental processes, with special attention given to the application of faith and theory as the student is prepared for graduate school or entry-level employment.
Dr. Larry Olson, Professor of Psychology and Counseling and Psychology Department Chair, praises the faculty:
"You will benefit greatly from the extensive knowledge and experience of the OCU Psychology and Social Sciences Department faculty. All members of the department are among the highest qualified in the field. These professors possess strong theoretical foundations and have a lifetime of experience in Chemical Dependency and other counseling as well as professional Christian ministry. All will seek to assist you to satisfy your personal quest for knowledge and enable your own personal, professional and spiritual growth."
Each course in the curriculum is intended to scaffold the learning experience toward a capstone internship that will attempt to measure ability to learn at the next level. Additional education and supervised work may be required for certification, depending on state/institutional requirements.
