Blazers Defeat Otterbein 7-5 for First Win of the Season

CHILLICOTHE, OH - Ohio Christian University Baseball (1-1) knocked off Otterbein University in the second game of an opening day doubleheader by a score of 7-5 to pick up their first win of the season.  The Blazers rallied to win the second game after losing game one by a score of 14-0 to their NCAA rivals from Columbus.

In the second game, the OCU offense was led by Cory Haner and Ryan McCauley who each went 2 for 3 with a pair of RBI's.  Haner also added a stolen base.  Outfielder Avery Sneed finished the day with three base hits for OCU.

Ohio Christian enjoyed a 3 run first inning and another 3 run inning in the third to take a 6-4 lead heading into the top of the 4th.  Nathan Wheeler picked up with the win as he pitched 5 innings, striking out 2 batters and giving up 2 earned runs on the night.

Ryan Black closed out the game as he pitched the final 1 and 2/3.  Black struck out two batters and gave up no hits to earn his first save of the season.

The Trailblazers are back in action on Friday when they tavel to NAIA affliate, Alice Lloyd College, for a pair of games in Pippa Passes, Kentucky.
