To participate in Ohio state elections or federal elections, you must register to vote ahead of time with the Ohio Secretary of State (SOS). You can register to vote through the County Board of Elections in person or by mail. You can also register to vote through the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) while completing driver’s license or ID card transactions. You cannot register online.
