Course books & materials made easy
ENROLL ~ When you enroll in classes, Slingshot will automatically receive your class list and create your order.
RECEIVE ~ Your materials can be delivered to your campus residence or be made available for pickup in the campus bookstore, or shipped to your preferred address.
CHARGE ~ Your books & materials balance automatically shows up in your student account.
RETURN ~ When classes finish, you simply return any rental items to the campus bookstore or via a pre-paid postage label to Slingshot directly.
Slingshot is OCU's auto-fulfillment course materials service. It functions as a subscription box for all necessary course materials. Once you enroll in classes and have your schedule, all of your required course materials will simply be delivered to you before the first day of class without any confirmation or coordination on your part.

How do I opt out of Slingshot if I don't want to use it?
Using Slingshot is completely optional, and students can opt in or out online anytime. To opt out, please visit the slingshot website, login and adjust your account preferences.
Is my textbook type preference guaranteed?
Most of the time if you select rent, buy used or buy new - it will be fulfilled ... but not always. Slingshot starts by trying to fill your requirements according to the preference you select. However, sometimes there may not be a used copy of a book available, and certain types of course materials cannot be rented – workbooks or textbooks with access codes, for example.
What if I already own a the required book?
You can return any book during the first week of class with no penalty.
What if I add or drop a class?
When a class is added, we will automatically be notified and will deliver your new course materials. If you drop a class, you must still return the materials to the campus store, or contact customer support for a return shipping authorization to avoid a non-return fee. Once we receive the item back, we will credit your student account. Please do this within a week of dropping the class, or you may be charged a restocking fee.
Am I able to simply buy required course materials instead of renting?
You can choose "buy new" or "buy used" as your preference on the Slingshot Website. You can decide later if you want to keep a rental. First you are charged the rental price up front, then you will be billed for the remainder of the price later on. In either case, feel free to highlight a rental book like you own it. Other than normal course markings within, rented materials need to come back in good condition to avoid additional fees.
